Lake Winnipeg is one of the world’s most beautiful and important freshwater lakes. For thousands of years it has provided food and water for hundreds of communities and thousands of Manitobans and has been acknowledged as a valuable recreational area, but now it needs help.

Lake Winnipeg was named “Most Threatened Lake for 2013” by Global Nature Fund and it continues to be threatened. It could lose the capacity to support life if something is not done.

In the summer of 2014 Anishinaabe women will lead a walk around the lake to pray for its revival and to bring attention to its condition. They will walk for 1,032 km and for 28 days. We need your help.
